Dr Jyoti Pooni

My name is Dr Jyoti Pooni, and I am a warm, caring, highly skilled and passionate Clinical Psychologist specialising in working with children, young people, parents, and families.

Throughout my career I have worked across the NHS, charity sector and in private practice in the community, outpatient and in inpatient services. I have a wealth of experience offering assessment and therapeutic intervention for children and young people aged 0-25 years alongside their families, school/college, and social care systems. I work with a range of emotional and mental health difficulties such as anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, and eating/sleeping difficulties often in the context of developmental difficulties, parental separation, bereavement and trauma.

I offer evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mentalization Based Therapy, solution focused, narrative and systemic approaches. I also integrate Attachment based approaches into my practice. I aim to provide a supportive, safe, and non-judgemental therapeutic space tailored to each child/young person and families individual needs. I am passionate about helping individuals manage their wellbeing. My aim is to empower you to build on your strengths and skills and to thrive and strive for the best in each other achieving your potential as individuals and as a family unit.

I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
