Dr Charlotte Kohler

Charlotte is a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist and BACP Registered Member with a Doctorate in Existential Psychotherapy and Counselling. She has experience supporting both young adults and adults through a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, identity concerns, and significant life transitions.

Although grounded in existential psychotherapy, Charlotte works flexibly and recognises that each person’s experience is unique. She therefore draws upon a range of psychological ideas and therapeutic approaches where appropriate, ensuring that therapy remains tailored to the individual. Her aim is to work collaboratively, helping clients find an approach that feels meaningful to their lives. Charlotte offers a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space in which clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences at their own pace.

Alongside her clinical work, Charlotte has a particular interest in maternal mental health. Her doctoral research explored the lived experiences of first-time mothers returning to work after maternity leave, deepening her understanding of the complex physical, emotional, and psychological shifts that can accompany major life transitions. She is particularly passionate about supporting individuals as they navigate periods of change and uncertainty.

Throughout her practice, Charlotte has worked with a diverse range of clients from different backgrounds and stages of life. She values building authentic therapeutic relationships and works sensitively with each client to explore their concerns.
