Cheow Godfrey

My name is Cheow Godfrey.  I am a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist as well as a Music Therapist.

I have worked for over 25 years in many settings, including the NHS, local authorities, primary and secondary schools and in the charitable sector.

I have a passion for working with people whether these are children, adolescents, adult individuals, couples or families. Throughout my career I have worked with a wide range of Mental Health and well-being concerns that include anxiety, depression, self-harm, trauma, marital and familial conflict.  I have substantial experience in working with children and adults with neurodevelopmental diversity and learning difficulties. As a systemic practitioner I am aware of how the situation of an individual member has an impact on the whole family.

In my sessions I aim to create a space that allows each voice to be heard, in order that we can, together, evolve new ideas and possibilities towards resolving the issues that are presented.

As well as my qualifications in Family and Systemic and Music Therapy, I have training in other modalities, including Compassion Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy which offer further resources for what might fit with my clients.

I am registered with the Association of Family Therapists (AFT), the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
